Twenty-two years later, while Émilienne and Marie-Cécile were preparing to move on August 15 to the Mother House in St Jacut-les-Pins, they shared their story with the municipal newsletter.

Allow a bit of history!
The new parish of Saint Conwoïon that included Sainte Marie de Redon, Bains-sur-Oust and Redon was enacted, Christmas 2002 and started operating on January 1st, 2003.
From September 2002 to March 2003, Father Mainguy, a resident of Bains since September 2000, provided most of the pastoral services; he lived in the presbytery, at 14, rue Poste. In January 2003 his health took a turn, and on the advice of his primary care physician he moved to a rest home. The presbytery shut its doors!
As it happened, Father MAUBOUSSIN became the parish priest of Saint Conwoïon! During a parish council meeting he suggested offering the Bains-sur-Ouest presbytery to a religious community. The proximity of our mother house in St Jacut-les-Pins and a community of Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Redon were favorable elements for the congregation and Mister Mayor, Mr. Dréan and his municipal council to begin the process!
The first community was made up of Sisters Béatrice, Joséphine and Anne-Marie, who settled into the presbytery at the end of August 2004; changes were necessary due to health concerns or other responsibilities!
In September 2006 (20 years ago) I was welcomed in the parish and then in 2018 so was Marie-Cécile!
Our stay with you will come to an end on August 15, but already, we want to thank the Banoise population for your kind and continuing welcome, your support, your thoughtfulness: “we feel at home with you”! We will keep this as a precious memory!
We want to especially thank Mr. Dréan (deceased), Mr. Derval, Mr. Barre and Mrs. Pondard and their municipal councillors as well as those working in administrative and technical services who always encouraged us in our different missions!
During the upcoming August 15 celebration, at the Bains grotto, we will express our gratitude and our “goodbye”.
